The identity of Cesenatico is intricately linked to its maritime past. In its historic center, in fact, there are many preserved monuments and places of cultural interest. Today, as in the past, the canal port is the center of life in this town. Redesigned by Leonardo da Vinci in 1502, it was first a strategic point, while today hasmany clubs, shops and typical restaurants with outdoor tables along its docks. Walking along the port, you can see the 19thcentury fish market and immediately behind it the squared Piazzetta delle Erbe and Piazza delle Conserve with the ancient icehouse. The canal also houses the floating section of the Maritime Museum which boasts a dozen traditional boats dating back to the end of the 19th century, equipped with the characteristic lug sails.
We will reach Cesenatico by sea, embarking early in the morning. Along the way there will be time for a stop offshore and a dive in the water. Once you reach the port, free time to visit the town and lunch.
