2 days / 1 night stay
Rimini, a city in constant evolution and ferment, has once again changed its skin by creating spaces of imagination and beauty that you will discover in a bike tour with a guide who seems to have come out of Fellini's dream world and who will catapult you with great ease into the visions of the Master of worldwide cinema.
We leave for the historic center starting from Borgo San Giuliano with its houses and murals of Fellini's characters. Here, stop to admire the Piazza sull'Acqua from the Tiberius Bridge, then go down the stairs for a shot in front of the mural with the peacock, reminiscent of a famous sequence by Amarcord. You will then visit the Fulgor Cinema and Piazza Cavour until you reach Castel Sismondo. Here the new Federico Fellini Museum is being born which will inaugurate between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021: the Castle will host the installations dedicated to cinema and its square will be transformed into the CircAmarcord Piazza dei Sogni, a real open air film set . The tour is completed by reaching the Grand Hotel in Rimini, a national monument since 1994.
The Grand Hotel offers a guided tour by reservation to the places and environments loved by the great director: suite 316, now Fellini suite, always free for him, the legendary terrace, objects and photos of the film sets and the room dedicated to Tonino Guerra, a friend and screenwriter with whom he wrote Amarcord.
The second day you can follow in the footsteps of Dante in Romagna.
Mondaino welcomes you with its surprising medieval village and a guided tour with quotations from the Divine Comedy. Here is the Dante Alighieri Study Center located in an ancient mill where you will be allowed to taste the typical cheese of fossa.
The tour continues with a visit to Saludecio, Montefiore and Montegridolfo, villages rich in history, culture and traditions. Saludecio is characterized by colorful murals for which it was included in the 'Painted Villages of Italy'; Montefiore, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, stands around the mighty Rocca dei Malatesta, whose events are narrated in Dante's works; Montegridolfo, a completely restored jewel-like village, where you will stop for a lunch break in a typical Valconca Restaurant.
